Abstract

The results of luminescent properties investigations of bismuth phosphate BiPO4 doped with Eu3+ and Pr3+ions are carried out. The possibility of application of the compounds studied as light sources for greenhouse cultivation of plants. It is found that in the cases of ВіРО4 doping with both Eu3+ and Pr3+ ions studied samples reveal intensive red luminescence at room temperature. Both emission and excitation spectra determined by transitions in rare-earth ions and in the same time no emission and corresponding excitation of phosphate host was not observed. Among all radiative transitions in case of Eu3+ -doping lines of 5D07 F2 transition better fits to absorption spectra of chlorophyll. There is correlation between bands 3P03H6 and 3P03 F2 in case of Pr3+ ions with corresponding bands of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b.
